Task of the first phase was the preparation of an urban-development
concept for a 430-hectare terrain to the south of the airport, availability of
which was due to the withdrawal of US armed forces. Extension comprises
the construction of a new terminal building for a further 25 million
passengers, 50 aircraft stands and related infrastructure, multi-storey car
parks, a complete "Cargo City" with plane-to-truck cargo movement, and
aircraft maintenance hangars.
During the second phase, it was required to prepare a concept for the
terminal building on the basis of a detailed programme.
